What is Honed concrete?

Honed concrete is a concrete mix made in a batching plant combining a mix of cement, water and aggregate. It is then poured into a concrete truck and brought to the job site where it is poured and troweled. 4-7 days after when the concrete has completely set, the concrete team will come back with a large honing machine and grind down the top layer of the concrete. This exposes the aggregate leaving you with a stunning honed concrete finish. The concreter will then acid wash the concrete, removing any dirt or oils that are on the concrete. Once the concrete is completely dry after the acid wash it will be sealed to prevent any yellowing, fading and staining from occurring. The sealer will include a fine grit to make it more slip resistant.
